My name is Chris Dooks and I am a first year PhD student living and working in Ayr, Scotland.
This is my research blog as part of my doctoral life at The University of The West of Scotland.
Here, you will find posts orientating around projects concerned with the relationship between Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and the arts.
Over the years, I developed a word to describe my art practice after generously being referred to as a “polymath” by a newspaper review. I thought this was rather grand and a bit silly, and I wanted to forge a word that was a little softer and dare I say it, more fun. So I came up with “Polymash” which sounds like a cross between a polymath and in my head, mashed potato. My fatigued brain often feels like it is made from mashed potato.
